Attestation of Documents

Attestation of documents such as Power of Attorney and Authority letter etc. should be signed by the executants in front of the Consular officer. Documents can be submitted personally or through Registered/Courier mail.

General Requirements

  • Original documents alongwith an additional set of photocopies.
  • Original Pakistani passport or CNIC / NICOP alongwith a photocopy.
  • All documents issued from Pakistan must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or its Camp Offices at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar & Quetta.
  • All Canadian documents must be attested by Global Affairs, Canada.
  • All educational documents must be attested by HEC (Higher Education Commission) and subsequently by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or its Camp Offices at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
  • C$20 is charged for the first three (3) continuous pages of a single document. Subsequent additional pages are charged @ C$20 per page.

The Consulate General may send a document to the issuing authority for verification which may take indefinite time.

Note: The applicants are encouraged to pay consular fee through Debit Card at the relevant counter or Bank Draft in the name of the Consulate General of Pakistan. Fee is non-refundable.

Attestation Of Power of Attorney

General Requirements

  • For attestation of Power of attorney every executants has to visit Consulate personally and must sign the attorney before the concerned official.
  • Two copies of each Power of Attorney alongwith Original Pakistani ID (Passport or CNIC / NICOP of the executants).
  • The Consulate General only attests signature(s) of the executant(s) and does not take any responsibility for the contents or authenticity of the contents of the Power of Attorney.
  • No Appointment is required for the submission of documents.
  • Papers related to pension must be submitted by pensioner personally. In case of ailment, the pensioner needs to submit doctor's certificate stating health condition and specific reason for not submitting the documents personally / physically.
  • C$20 is charged for the first three (3) continuous pages of a single document. Subsequent additional pages are charged @ C$ 20 per page.

Note: As per new instructions from the Government of Pakistan, photograph of the executant (person giving the power of attorney) must be pasted on the Power of Attorney beside his/her signature.

Pakistani Driver License Verification

Requirements for Pakistani Driving License Verification

Attach Two (2) sets of following documents:

  • Original valid driving license issued from a driving licensing authority of Pakistan.
  • Fill up the required Driving License Form
  • (Please fill up the form with the data provided on driving license only. In case of any difference between particulars mentioned in the driving license and Pakistani passport, fill up the form according to particulars mentioned in the driving license and give a separate note regarding the changed particulars mentioned in the Pakistani passport at the right bottom corner of the form on blank space. See example).
  • CD$ 20 is charged for verification.
Police Character Certificate

Requirements for Pakistani Police Character Certificate

  • Please send completely Police Character Certificate Form along with a copy of Pakistani passport / CNIC / NICOP and a recent photograph.
  • Police Character Certificate is issued by the Consulate upon receipt of original Police Report from the concerned authorities in Pakistan which takes a few Months (Normally 3 to 6 months).
  • C$20 fee is charged by the Consulate at the time of issuance of Police Character Certificate.
Note
  • Please note that the Consulate General may send the driving license to the issuing authority in Pakistan for verification.
  • Applications can be sent by mail alongwith all required documents, fee and a return pre-paid, self-addressed courier envelope.
  • The applicants are encouraged to pay consular fee through Debit Card at the relevant counter or Bank Draft in the name of the Consulate General of Pakistan.
  • Fee is non-refundable.
